Children do imitate the work their parents do–whether to feel more grown up or to be helpful. Either way, their are learning good work and life skills.

I think all Amish kids take on more grown up responsibilities long before most kids do.

I am an avid Amish novel reader and have imagined this scene many times in all the years I have read these books. Amish children have to grow up very fast in comparison with non-Amish, or the “English”. Can’t wait for your next book, as Amish mysteries are my very favorite. Oh, by the way, I am a 73 year old great grandma and reading books were taught to me by my parents.
